Meet The Designer
A happy accident. That is how my love of jewelry design began. While out for lunch, my mom took off the Carnelian bracelet and handed it to my then one year old daughter, Maja. The ever curious Maja explored the bracelet in many ways, including banging it against her stroller. Needless to say, it suffered permanent damage. Feeling responsible for my child's handiwork and with my mom's encouragement, I took the bracelet and decided to see what I could do to transform the bracelet into a new wearable piece of art.
That is how I see my designs; as art. In this world that we live, to copy,
reproduce,replicate or duplicate easily and quickly is marketed to us as
what we should all strive for and demand. I, in turn,believe otherwise.
Individuality, uniqueness, originality and an essence of craft are the
qualities that drive my designs as well as the purchases for myself, my
family, friends and home. Each piece I make, each design that is born out
of countless experiences and influences, is never replicated. I take great
pride in knowing that each piece that is purchased will be forever unique
to that one woman who wears it. As with any artist or designer,many
factors influence my designs. First and foremost it is my passion for art
and travel, intricately combined, that inspire my pieces.
Incredible trips that have taken me to virtually every corner of the world helped and continue to help ignite the creativity and passion which are poured into each piece. As with other mediums of art, I too, title each piece to celebrate its one-of-a-kind existence.
As a mother, teacher and student I strive to keep learning new techniques and methods that will provide me with the necessary tools to create, design and share my passion of jewelry with the world. I use the highest quality of materials in all my designs and stand behind each piece that bears the Mi & Bee Design.
